It's been quite a long time since our last first 10 minutes, and since a story heavy game like Heavenly Sword is most appropriate for these videos I bought the game on saturday. 2 more videos will follow during the week, along with my impressions.
Update: Second part is online, with a lot of not so precise Sixaxis gameplay.
Update3: Third and last part available.

They aren't employees of Sony though, the website is funded by Sony, but these people are not Sony employees. Not that it matters, they have the right to review whatever they like, it's not like it counts for anything, like metacritic or anything, it's just so people who visit the site can see what the threespeech writers think of the game. It's really no big deal.

To be honest, i didn't even read the thing, just clicked and saw it was a review and decided to change the thread name :P
I won't read one single review of Heavenly Sword what so ever. I know how it looks and plays, and I know the story...the rest is up to ME to decide if I want to waste money on a game or not...which I am :P
But for others that want reviews first, I saw wait for IGN, Gamespot to show up.

Does that Threespeech site have no shame? Seriously, that is abysmal.
Don't get me wrong, I shelled out £330 for a PS3 just for this game after playing it but it's akin to Major Nelson giving Halo 3 10/10 except worse because at least he's up front about who he working for.
The game is great but write about it, don't review it. Nobody with any sense takes you seriously

Why are you getting worked up about this? It's no big deal, and the visitors to that site will probably appreciate the review. You don't have to take it seriously, just kike you don't have to take any review seriously. They're all just opinion pieces in the end.

Sony reviewing their own game. What will they say about it? What do we expect them to say? What MUST they say or get in trouble with bosses?

I don't see how this would be any different than OPM or OXM giving a review. Just because its online?

It seems a bit different I'm sure the game will likely be great, but this is similar to Majornelson reviewing Mass Effect or Halo.
OXM and OPM don't interact with us the way these bloggers would.

A "review" from them just doesn't seem right in the same way I wouldn't like Major Nelson to be "reviewing" games. Impressions, fine...At least they didn't give it a score.

You're just arguing semantics then surely, impressions given after a game has been played fully are called reviews. That's just the way it is. I don't see the issue.

In any event that wasn't really my point. I'm just not exactly sold on a Sony-sponsored blog, with a slightly shady rationale at best giving "reviews" on games. If the game sucked, they would hardly say so.
Fortunately it doesn't mind :)

Fact is Sony reviewing their own game is a joke lets just leave it at that. If Microsoft reviewed their own game it would also be a joke.
Thats like Bungie putting up a review on their website about Halo 3.

So threespeech developed Heavenly Sword?
And I thought they were only "semi"-official.. as in, they're not Sony employees? How exactly is that any different than official magazines? Major Nelson is a Microsoft employee/spin-man, no?

They aren't Sony Employees? I could've swore this blog was started by Sony and immediately since its opening there were already contacts with major higher ups within Sony talking up the PS3 I don't think thats a coincidence.
Yea threespeech didn't develop Heavenly Sword, but we all know they are affiliated heavily with Sony and as such wont utter a single bad thing about the game. I didn't even read the review and already know its riddled with praises.
I'm not saying what was probaby said in that review isn't true, but coming from them who is to take it seriously? Yep Majornelson is pretty much that for Microsoft, but so is whoever runs Threespeech. The difference is they work for Sony. I think we've seen our fair share of spin from threespeech ever since it first started.
We've seen Majornelson say how much he loves this or that game, but never has he done a review. It isn't really making something out of nothing. Me and others are just calling this review what it is whereas others are trying to beat around the bush and suggest its a trustable source. Not really a big deal I'm just calling it what it is. Sony Spin.

Threespeech started as a collection of freelance journalists who are commissioned to contribute to the site. It is funded by directly by Sony and set up by Ramp Industry, a UK PR firm who happen to have Sony as one of their clients. On occasions they've been caught deleting negative comments about Sony. Though they insist editorial control is down to the "contributers" essentially Sony provide the content and then some freelance journalists can wax lyrical about it.
So as you say, just like the official magazines. The difference is everybody knows what the Official mags are, who Major Nelson is, who the Gamerscore blog is. They don't make out to be independent or any different or attempt to draw a veil over things.
Since then, SCEA started the Playstation.Blog which is infinitely better and blogging done right. If Sony wasn't so regionalised Threespeech would have been binned as a failed experiment already like AllIWantforXmasIsAPSP

So basically, this review has just as much merit as an OXM/OPM review, but we should disregard it because they're shady about how they present themselves? Well--makes sense I guess--since I disregard OXM/OPM reviews too!
Still, the conspiracy angle this is taking is pretty funny, if you ask me. It's certainly nothing like bungie posting their own review of Halo 3.
