It's been quite a long time since our last first 10 minutes, and since a story heavy game like Heavenly Sword is most appropriate for these videos I bought the game on saturday. 2 more videos will follow during the week, along with my impressions.
Update: Second part is online, with a lot of not so precise Sixaxis gameplay.
Update3: Third and last part available.

2007-07-23 15:25:29 Footage of Heavenly Sword running on the original Xbox

just stumbled on this at Eurogamer
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JFopu5RLIM0&eurl=htt...

Quite interesting. I always thought that the prototype they made was for Xbox 360 not the original xbox ? anyway this looks pretty damn good for and Xbox game.

Oh wow! I know technically the PS3 game is going to be doing a lot more than this but I'll be damned if that doesn't look darn close visually at that resolution.

Ninja Theory have required a LOT of new staff and relocation to new offices to make it into a fully fledged game. I'm not sure Microsoft had the confidence to invest that amount of time and money in them after Kung Fu Chaos.

I think its first 360 build the HS lead programmer on Beyond3d mentioned that NT (or JAD)worked with 360 alpha kit.

and thats the problem with them, they look if the previous game made was successful (sold over millions of copies) instead of looking at the talent of the devs, the pontatial the game has and what it might do to the xbox library which lacks diversity.....but are willing to throw 50 million on DLC

look at GG, the devs aren't legendary like epic or bungie, but because sony was supportive they've made progress

You've brought up Guerilla as an example when Sony had to do the exact same thing to them. It's 20/20 hindsight.

is that so, KZ2 tells a different stroy

the thing is, to make money you need lose money thats how it is

Ms will never see a chance like this again especially good devs begging on their knees for game to be on their console....won't happen

Firstly Killzone 2 LOOKS great right now, how it plays is another matter.

Secondly that was my point, Sony had to invest a LOT more than just the purchase price of the studio. They could probably have started a whole new studio in Holland for the same price.

maybe running on a 360 devkit from 2004 : no 360 CGU and a single core powerpc if I remember correctly.
Still, it's quite good looking, too bad ms turned it down !

Not PS3. Probably some early build running on PC from 2004 or something like that. Xbox couldn't do HDR. I've never seen on Xbox an army of soldiers each casting real-time shadow and so on. While artistically that video looks rough, there are things that AFAIK are not possibly on X1.

which brings up my point, to make money you need lose money, MS can't leave everything to the devs. besides it doesn't make sense to start another studio when you can purchase another studio with same price who already have the tool ready

Shane Kim owes me a lot of money. Enough said. And I loved Kung Fu Chaos!

Impressive demo if that actually was on the Xbox, shows just how much headroom that box had if it was given another year or two.

I'm 99% sure HS was always intended for Next-gen, so it's probably PC's with allusions to what would become Xbox 360.

As expected, several weeks after our presentation to MS, they say no to Kung Fu Story but we are already busy designing a next generation original IP codenamed Heavenly Sword. And so begins this diary of the dreams and nightmares that define next-gen development...

Yeh, those are probably early PC builds before they got picked up by Sony, I doubt it's running off of an Xbox.

theres no way thats running on Xbox1. Not with all those characters on-screen at one time along with the real-time lighting and shadows...no way.

HS was once up for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

That footage is probably early 360 stuff. Or maybe it was PS3 stuff all along and that's what they showed for the 360 version since it might have gone multi-platform.

But it ended up exclusive for PS3.

Edit: Actually, I remember NT saying they started development on the PC. Chances are that stuff was proposed for a 360 version before they shifted over to the PS3.
